چکیده

This expanded conference paper reports the results of a psychophysiological research study on shared intentionality conducted in 24 online experiments with 405 subjects (208 recipients and 197 contributor-confederates). In this research, we created bioengineering system for assessing human groups by modeling mother-neonate dyad properties during solving unintelligible multiple-choice puzzles. model, only mother (contributor-confederate) knows correct stimulus shares knowledge neonate (participant-recipient). The induced interpersonal dynamics stimulating their interactional synchrony, emotional contagion neuronal coherence. collected data confronting recipients' performance "primed" "unprimed" conditions confederates. These informed contributors knew responses condition confidently responded items. Specifically, 13 mother-child dyads, evidence showed increase 48-394%, P-value < 0.001 (62 54 confederates) “primed” confederates; 7 primary group adults, it 143-300%, 0.002. secondary group, UL3 items (a translation an unfamiliar language, 20 from 41 experiment No.12). 3 207 subjects, non-semantic tasks–SL3 (synthetic language) US3 (two-color symbols)–did not stimulate effect. We also analyzed outcome random value (possible chance). Comparing outcomes these two data-collecting methods sample size allow discussing method's validity reliability. article shows four factors' domains that contribute to magnitude.

Shared intentionality.

We argue for the importance of processes of shared intentionality in children's early cognitive development. We look briefly at four important social-cognitive skills and how they are transformed by shared intentionality. In each case, we look first at a kind of individualistic version of the skill -- as exemplified most clearly in the behavior of chimpanzees -- and then at a version based on s...

Nonseparability of Shared Intentionality

According to recent studies in developmental psychology and neuroscience, symbolic language is essentially intersubjective. Empathetically relating to others renders possible the acquisition of linguistic constructs. Intersubjectivity develops in early ontogenetic life when interactions between mother and infant mutually shape their relatedness. Empirical findings suggest that the shared attent...

Shared Experiences and Intentionality

Introducing the notion of experience as a primitive construct, we illustrate how the BDI cycle is completed: experiences generate beliefs, which in turn generate desires, which in turn generate intentions, which in turn generate new experiences. Furthermore, the notion of experience is used to ground social BDI agents in the physical world. We do not assume an agent’s BDI model already exists, ...

Human thinking, shared intentionality, and egocentric biases

The paper briefly summarises and critiques Tomasello's (2014) A Natural History of Human Thinking. After offering an overview of the book, the paper focusses on one particular part of Tomasello's proposal on the evolution of uniquely human thinking and raises two points of criticism against it. One of them concerns his notion of thinking. The other pertains to empirical findings on egocentric b...

Let’s Dance Together: Synchrony, Shared Intentionality and Cooperation

Previous research has shown that the matching of rhythmic behaviour between individuals (synchrony) increases cooperation. Such synchrony is most noticeable in music, dance and collective rituals. As well as the matching of behaviour, such collective performances typically involve shared intentionality: performers actively collaborate to produce joint actions. Over three experiments we examined...
